An Interview With House Laflare

An interview with @House.laflare Curated By @Sonderplant

Who are you?

I’m House La Flare.

How did your journey into art start?

My journey started in late 2019, before the world changed forever.

Who was your main source of inspiration in pursuing art and especially 3D art?

I didn’t have much inspiration in terms of 3D, but my three influences are Virgil Abloh, Takashi Murakami, and Hajime Sorayama.

Why 3D?

I chose 3D because I realized just using standard design programs put a cap on my creative visions, and I wanted to push my boundaries in art.

In your opinion, should an artist define their own style or is an original style not that important anymore?

Originality is something definitely desirable, but nothing is truly “original.”

What would be a dream project for you?

My passion is music, so I would like to break more into designing album covers for bigger artists and apply my aesthetics and vision to a bigger platform to a bigger audience.

Favourite piece of media (movies/anime)?

I love Kanye’s Graduation, Pulp Fiction, and Dragon Ball.

A piece of advice for a beginner artist?

Breathe. And move in the direction that benefits you and only you in the long run.
